Uppermill Football Club

Uppermill Football Club was formed in 1924 and is an official FA Charter Standard Community Club (highest award given by The FA) and this award was received in recognition of it’s achievements and best practices in Nov 2005.

 

Uppermill FC runs 5 open age mens teams.

Uppermill FC runs Boys teams from Under 8 through to U15

 

Uppermill FC runs an open age girls team.

Uppermill FC runs Girls teams from U10 through to U16.

New Open Age Girls Team this season – West Riding League.

Three of the open age girls have been selected to represent the West Riding County FA representative side.

 

 

Uppermill FC has 68 fully qualified FA Coaches at Level 1, 8 at Level 2 & two currently working towards their Level 3 UEFA ‘B’ licenses. Uppermill FC has both male and female coaching staff. 25 of the coaches are under 25 years of age coaching young people in the community. Uppermill FC coaches have CRB clearance, First Aid & Child Protection certificates. The dedicated coaching staff regularly attend coaching/coach education workshops to develop as coaches and coaching staff at Uppermill FC have won awardss from West Riding County FA, Regional Yorkshire FA, Sport in Oldham Awards & Greater Manchester Sports Awards.

 

Uppermill FC were invited to the PFA Awards Dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel London, which was an incredible honour. Cesc Fabregas young player of the year, Cristiano Ronaldo player of the year…..we even met Fabio Capello!

 

Uppermill FC won ‘Sport in Oldham Club of the Year 2006’ at the Oldham Sports Awards and represented Oldham at the Greater Manchester Sports Awards.

 

Uppermill FC runs a ‘sport in the community’ coaching session foc for Boys & Girls aged 4+ every Friday during term time for children in the community to try sport, have some fun & meet new friends as well as being healthy!

 

Uppermill FC has massive plans for future expansion with the continued introduction of new Boys & Girls teams each season.

 

Uppermill FC will organise a Primary Schools Mini Football tournament as part of the Saddleworth Show on Sunday 14th June at Churchill Playing Fields. This tournament will give boys & girls the opportunity to have some fun and participate in what we think will be a great day. Uppermill FC officials will run the event in conjunction with The Saddleworth/Oldham Rotary – please come along and give this event your support.
